A Friends group supports the library by increasing community interest in the library,
participating in on-going and special library events and carrying out fund raising projects.

East Hartford Public Library Wish List

The following represents some of the needs of the library.

in helping us attain some of these items:

•	paper cutter for the children's room ($175)
•	library signage(approximately $60 to $90 each)
•	headsets for the public computers
•	funding to upgrade various areas of our collections
•	shelving ($250 - $500 per unit)
•	furniture
•	toys for children with special needs
•	funding for more Spanish materials in all formats
•	funding for books in Braille
•	restore antique Pitkin clock ($2000-$3000)
•	restore Knabe grand piano (1941) at Wickham Library ($2300)
•	memorial book donation ($25 and up)
•	refinish antique tables in new reference room
•	museum passes ($50 to $150 each)
•	bookmarks
•	paging system
