The town of East Hartford has joined with other communities up and down the east coast in celebrating  the Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary War project. In ten towns in Connecticut, special historic markers will be installed where French troops camped in 1781 and 1782 on their way back and forth from Yorktown, Virginia.

The East Hartford marker was installed at a dedication ceremony at the East Hartford Public Library on Sunday, October 16th at 2:00 p.m. Speakers at the event included United States Congressman John Larson, State Senator Gary LeBeau, Mayor Timothy Larson, and Director of Libraries Patrick Jones.

Exhibits about Rochambeau and the Revolutionary War along with books on the subject are on display at the library. You are invited to stop by and take a look and check out one or more of the books available on the topic.
