Children, including infants, may apply for a library card provided a parent or guardian signs the application. All library cards require proof of residency in East Hartford.
In special circumstances, children may receive an adult card.
The fee for a lost child's card is 25 cents.
When children reach the age of 12, or are in the 7th grade, they may apply for an adult card.

Children, teens and adults may borrow material from the Children's Room with a valid library card.
DVDs and videos circulate only on an adult library card.
Items may be renewed one time either in person, on the phone or online.
To renew items over the phone, the barcode number from your library card is needed.

Items on reserve cannot be renewed.
